Inspired by the Group of Seven artists, Masson employed a fluid and broad brush style in painting figures as well as landscapes. He was self-taught and painted many of his landscape scenes in the Hull and Gatineau Valley areas of Quebec. He exhibited at Ottawa's Wallack Galleries in the 1960s and 70s and a significant collection of his work remains in the National Gallery of Canada today. Masson was recognized as a member of the Canadian Group of Painters, Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colours, Canadian Society of Graphic Arts and the Ontario Society of Artists.
Painting is in excellent condition. Original vintage frame has nicks and wear consistent with age.
